about
This ep was recorded in late 2000-01 at a point in my life where everything seemed surreal. My major influences in life could summed up with william s. burroughs, drugs, sonic youth and the ramones.

"beats on the brats" is a quirky take on the ramones classic.

"Generation X" is a track mocking the use of ecstasy and techno, exposing it as a "false drug revolution".

"even the homeless sleep" is based on my literal observations of the classes in downtown miami circa 2000. I observed events, interactions and a young homeless girl for one week struggling to survive in downtown miami while rich corporate suits couldn't be bothered to give her a dime.

The musical elements of "even the homeless sleep" was heavily inspired by the Lee Ranaldo written, Sonic Youth backed "NYC Ghosts & Flowers" off the album by the same name.

Track Name: even the homeless sleep
Night sky conquers all
As the train sets on its journey
People sleep in the dead of night
Bugs swarm over the lights and the night air is cold

A man is dying of cancer somewhere
While another man is thinking about suicide

Taking on a fight is not easy when you know you’re going lose
But it’s ok to lose sometimes because in reality you never really lose

Even the homeless sleep

A woman is beaten by her husband at home
While another woman is talking on a cellular phone

Grow tired sometimes and never win
We look at the sky and wonder what’s within

We live a book, written by destiny
I guess we all have our tragedies, heartbreaks & lies.

A family bitches about a broken air conditioner
While a fourteen year old girl starves out in the streets alone

A man is dying of cancer somewhere
Another one is rejoicing in how he found Christ
Funny isn’t it?

What do you tell that girl on the streets?
Living by herself- No money, No future, No Nothing
What do you tell her, huh?
What does she have to believe in?
She doesn’t believe in herself anymore.

We all eventually wear thin
We decide to call it a night
And while we sleep
the bugs swarm ..
the lights..
the street..
night conquers all
